About Us

Sign hi posterSign Hi Say Hi Club

Sign Hi Say Hi Club is a ‘drop in’ for deaf/HI children & deaf young people, their families, siblings, parents, carers and friends.

The club was started by parents from Fylde Deaf Children’s Society (FDCS) which is linked to the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS). The Club is now run in partnership with the Play Inclusion Project (PIP). All deaf children & young people are welcome from birth to young adults whether they choose to communicate by speech or BSL.

The club is an opportunity for deaf children/young people to meet, take part in activities such as sport, craft, workshops and simply be together. It is also for parents/carers to have a coffee & socialise with other families. Many children or young people find they are the only deaf child or young person in their school and at Sign Hi Say Hi they are with other young deaf people and deaf adults too.

British Sign Language classes for families are also available with tutors provided through Blackpool Council Family Learning.

We meet alternate Tuesdays, only term time at the moment, at The Independent Living Centre on Whitegate Drive or will hold an activity session at another venue
